Kitchen makeover

I had painted the cabinets last year, now the next step. So here is the before of our lovely kitchen.  Not so lovely but functional.

We added a new dishwasher a few months ago.

 

Then here it is in progress.  We had a venetian gold granite put in by a great guy that I found on Craigslist!  I bought a new LG double oven from ebay (great price) but when it was time to slide it in we found the hole was like 1 1/2 inches too small. So the granite guy called his cabinet maker friend and he came and removed our lower cabinets and remade them, reusing the fronts.  Wow, always something eh?





But don't ya love the pull down delta faucet? I do! Oh and got a single sink instead of double.

 So finally all granite was done so we decided to try to install the backsplash ourselves. 

It wasn't too bad. We knew the hardest part would be to cut around the outlets and that dumb phone jack so we chose the small mosaic tile to go in the middle thinking it may be easier to cut and maneuver.  It took a few days with drying and grouting but we did it!

 Just had to add that spiffy phone to cover the jack. ha 

My phone pics really don't do it justice but we love the results and are so proud we accomplished it.  Now to add the stainless microwave and fridge next.
